Begin in Phnom Penh with a highlights tour by cyclo (pedal-rickshaw), plus visits to the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda, and the National Museum, as well as the sobering Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum and the "Killing Fields" of Choeung Ek. Then head to Koh Trong Island, where your highlight experience will be kayaking the Mekong River in search of freshwater dolphins. Next, based in Kampong Thom, you'll explore the temple ruins of Sambor Prei Kuk, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before arriving in Siem Reap—the gateway to the awe-inspiring temple complex at Angkor.
Then you'll spend four nights in Siem Reap, where an entire day is spent exploring the temples of Angkor Thom—the largest and last capital of the Khmer Empire—and circuiting the outlying temples by remork (tuk-tuk). Start your adventure in Siem Reap by exploring the vast religious site of Angkor, including Ta Prohm—the root-entangled "Tomb Raider" temple—and the Bayon temple, with its 54 towers decorated with giant bas-relief faces. You'll also watch the sunrise over Angkor Wat temple, then journey to Banteay Srei temple, with exquisite carvings depicting tales from the Ramayana. At the APOPO Visitor Centre, you'll meet the giant "HeroRATS" that sniff out landmines, plus you'll visit the "floating villages" of Tonlé Sap and the ancient Spean Praptos Bridge (guarded by nine-head Nagas) en route to Phnom Penh.

Begin in Siem Reap with two full days exploring the vast UNESCO World Heritage Site at Angkor. Here, your temple visits by remork include Bayon, with its giant bas-relief smiling faces, pyramidal Baphoun, plus the Terrace of Elephants. You'll also witness sunrise over the reflecting pond and temple at Angkor Wat, journey to the well-preserved Banteay Srei temple, and roam Ta Prohm, the root-entangled "Tomb Raider" temple. Add a day excursion by boat to the "floating villages" of Tonlé Sap, birdwatching in Prek Toal Bird Sanctuary, and a visit to the Saray Tonlé handicraft project.
