Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

Cairo Nile
Welcome to Cairo!

Welcome to Egypt! Upon arrival at the airport in Cairo, meet up with your travel representative, who will assist you through customs and formalities. Then, you will be escorted to your hotel for check-in. Relax after a long day of travel.

Day 2: Full-Day tour and concert at the pyramids

The pyramids and Sphinx in Giza

In the morning, a travel representative will pick you up from your hotel by private, air-conditioned vehicle. Begin the full day of touring at the Egyptian Museum. The richest museum of Egyptian antiques in the world, it contains pharaonic treasures dating more than 5,000 years old. The building is rectangular with a large rotunda on the ground floor containing massive exhibits, including colossal statues of Ramses II—the best views of them can be obtained by looking down from the upper galleries.

The gold and alabaster trappings from the tomb of Tutankhamun (Tut) draw the crowds, as well; many of the Tutankhamun tomb treasures have been on display in museums around the world—including the golden mask—yet this one exhibit has always remained in Cairo. No visit to Egypt is complete without discovering the collection of rare jewelry and treasures of Tutankhamun. If you wish, you can visit The Royal Mummies Room, too.

Next, visit Cairo Tower, also known as Borg El Qahera. By today’s standards, a 614-foot-high tower may not break any records, but this tower has been a part of the city’s skyline for nearly 60 years. It was also the tallest structure in Africa until 1971 when it lost its status to the Hillbrow Tower in Johannesburg, South Africa.

After the first two tours, return to your hotel and freshen up. Then, transfer to Giza for a concert near the pyramids. Following the show, return to your hotel in Cairo.

Take a lunch break at a local restaurant. Continue the exploration into the afternoon by visiting the Old Cairo churches, and then move to the Khan El Khalili old market and El Hussein Mosque.

Next, enjoy a drink at El Fishawy Café. Then, visit Wekalet El Ghori for a Tanowra show and a folklore show. Stop for dinner at Naguib Mahfouz restaurant before heading back to the hotel in Cairo to relax and unwind.
