Had a wonderful Golden Circle trip with Prokop and an amazing South Coast tour with Toby. Kids loved off roading in the land rover en route to the ice cave. Spent a rainy afternoon at Perlan, which was very interesting. The strike of the restaurant and housekeeping workers was a bit disappointing, but nothing we can do about that!
Overall a great trip and we would return, hopefully in the summer to see puffins and whales.

She was able to make adjustments as our travel plans changed and was extremely helpful when we were faced with an unexpected Icelandic storm, throwing everyone into a state of emergency, and causing our Zodiak iceberg tour to be cancelled. She urged us to leave the area quickly and found us new accommodations further South. The next morning the ring road was closed from our new location northward. We would have been trapped without her assistance. Instead, we had 2 more very lovely days to explore Vik and surrounding area with plenty of time to regroup in Reykjavik before heading home. Though we enjoyed all of Iceland, our favorite place was Seydisfjordur, where we stayed with Hotel Aldan (Highly recommend them). We loved our room in the Old Bank and they served the best breakfast of our entire trip. This is also where we finally witnessed the Northern Lights' splendor. Shout out to Martin (works with Anton) - our guide on our Northern Lights tour in Lake Myvatn, who taught us a lot about how to look for them and, though we did not see them that night, I credit him with teaching us how to find them the next.

**If you usually book your own trips like I do, I would suggest for Iceland that you avoid that. I met people who were "doing their own thing" and so many of them seemed a bit lost and missed the off-the-beaten path sights. For Iceland specifically, I'd highly recommend using a local professional like Emanuela.

Some of our favorite things were hiking Fjadrargljufur Canyon, Skogafoss and the trail that starts above it to so many beautiful waterfalls, and up along the river to Hengifoss.

Our accommodations were exactly what we had asked for and Emanuela planned our itinerary for the perfect driving distance between each stop so there was time to enjoy the sights and relax in the evenings. We loved her restaurant recommendations from elegant dining in unexpected places (Narfeyrarstofa in Stykkisholmar) to casual, non-touristy breweries (Ölverk in Selfoss).

We also truly appreciated that Emanuela was looking out for us during our trip. At one point a big storm was headed to Iceland and Emanuela got in touch to make sure we knew to headed to our next destination early, before the Ring Road was closed. She managed a couple of tours that were canceled because of the storm and made sure we were refunded - no extra work for us. With her guidance we were safe and sound!

The trip was everything I'd hoped for and more. I spent two weeks with my guide, Erneeraq, backpacking through some of the most unspoiled and beautiful land I've ever seen. The hiking and photography opportunities were some of the best I've ever experienced on a backpacking trip, the local food was amazing (including foraging for berries and vegetables), and I met some wonderful people and experienced the beauty of Greenlandic culture.

I LOVED this! It was like extreme snorkeling. The tectonic plates and nature was so beautiful. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Our guide I can’t remember his name but was really great! He took the time to ensure our wet suits were on properly and was with us the entire time. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

So amazing!!!! The south coast was so beautiful. The black sand beaches, lava cave formations, the waterfalls. Everything was amazing. Really breathtaking that cannot be appreciated as much on camera but really need to see it in person. It was such a great experience. The lava show surpassed my expectations! The presenter or guide was excellent! Very knowledgeable. Amazing to see lava that close. Felt very safe. Also got a piece of lava glass at the end which was really cool.

There was a minor hiccup at a hotel, but Emanuela was reachable and helped solve the problem right away. We requested higher end hotels and only the ones in the main city of Reykjavik were exceptional. The others were a little run down compared to what we asked for, but that may be due to the remote towns we were in. Overall, we had a great experience.

Our family of three returned last week from a truly phenomenal experience in Iceland, planned by Emanuela Grieco for KimKim. The process of planning the trip with Emanuela was entirely smooth - we worked through some adjustments after her itinerary was developed, and she incorporated our input at every step. Once we got on our way, we found the GoogleMap links to be particularly helpful on our driving days. While we did have a few very busy and long driving days, overall she planned just the right amount of activity in each day and the distances were manageable. Working with Emanuela saved our busy family a ton of time, resulted in an itinerary that we never would have produced ourselves, and and was worth every penny!!

Our itinerary that gave us sufficient time to explore Reykjavik at the beginning of our tripo, returning 3 mornings in a row to Braud & Co. for incredible pastries right near the Hallgrimskirkja. We had a really lovely dinner at Snaps, befriended a friendly Icelandic cat, and visited the Settlement Exhibition at the Reykjavik City Museum. She booked a helicopter ride over the volcano fields that left our 9 year old son's jaw on the floor, and a whale watch that enabled us to see 5 species of marine mammals. On our third day we left the city and toured the Snaefellsnes peninsula, having a very nice traditional Icelandic lunch at Langaholt Guesthouse & Restaurant on the south coast right after the Ytri Tunga Beaches. Further along, we joined a tour of a series of subterranean lava tubes left behind 8,000 years ago during a volcanic eruption. All around the peninsula, we kept trying to count waterfalls but there was so many it was impossible! By far our favorite hotel was FossHotel in Reykolt with lovely hot tubs and a quiet setting after a long day of travel. The Golden Circle is a "must do" but the sites along the way were (not unexpectedly) crowded and touristy - parking was a challenge at most stops. An unexpected find was the small, easily accessible Fitjarfoss waterfall off the 52 Road on the way to the Thingvellir Visitor Center from Reykolt. [Careful - there is more than 1 Reykolt in Iceland!]. After staying outside Selfoss, we traveled to Vik and along the way stopped at incredible waterfalls, fed bread to the friendly Icelandic horses and stumbled upon a film being shot on location at the Kvernufoss waterfall - a lesser known and much less crowded site than the incredible Seljalandsfoss waterfall. The Seljalandsfoss was awesome - our son loved the "pouring rain" and walking behind the falls. We had 2 perfect kid-friendly dinners in Vik at the Black Sand Pizza Company and Smidjan Brugghus and stayed at Hotel Kria, which had a great breakfast. Emanuela booked us a horseback ride along the black sand beaches the evening we arrived in Vik, and the next day she sent us out on a whirlwind day including a glacier hike on the near the Skaftafell Visitor Center with Troll Expeditions (Tina was a highlight for our son) and an amphibian boat tour of the Jokullsarlon Glacier Lagoon. The late afternoon sun light shining through drifting glaciers was gorgeous, and harbor seals were everywhere. On our last day we drove from Vik to Grindavik for an ATV tour over the lava fields and a final night at the gorgeous Silica Hotel, where we sampled the Blue Lagoon and had sandwiches at the hotel for dinner. The Blue Lagoon is absolutely worth, even if only for a strange, other-worldly experience and people watching!! Relaxation was more easily achieved in the smaller private lagoon of the Silica Hotel.

I had a very pleasant for experience with Kim Kim. This was my first experience with the company and also my first trip after COVID and so I was a little hesitant to try it out. However, I was very pleased with Emanuela and her recommendations and she was also very patient and answering my questions. She also took special care of my 13-year-old which made me much more comfortable with my child going on the tour and into the ice cave via the ladder. I bought the auto insurance for the first time (for window shields and tires) and we used it on Day 2 when we had a flat tire. Enterprise sent a repair man who fixed the tire while we had dinner in a nearby restaurant. Totally worth it! we saw many people with flats in Iceland.

My family and I returned from an 8 day Iceland vacation a little over a week ago. This was our “big” vacation that was long overdue. With so much information available on Iceland, as well as talking to friends that had previously visited, the task of planning seemed a bit daunting. How was I going to plan an engaging, memorable experience for 2 teenage boys and my husband? When I finally decided to use KimKim, my specialist Emanuel communicated with me and we began a lovely rapport immediately. I know it’s hard to get to know someone via email and I don’t know how Emanuela did it, but she figured out our travel preferences and created an itinerary that delivered. We began our trip with Wake Up Reykjavik walking food tour (we’re foodies) and it was a great introduction to Iceland, the culture, history and meet other travelers (highly suggest this as an introduction to Iceland) Alma, our food/tour guide was knowledgeable, engaging and funny. By the end of the tour she had a bunch of strangers talking as though we were all friends traveling together. What a way to start our vacation! Our itinerary was full as we wanted to see and do so much in 8 days and Emanuela made sure we weren’t overwhelmed from the get go as she started us off with the most beautiful areas of Iceland, the Snaefellness Peninsula which was a hit for my boys. Our trip culminated with a breathtaking (figuratively speaking) Glacier Hike with Arctic Adventure with Barbara, our guide. This tour was the family favorite, the hike was not difficult and it took a few minutes to adjust to walking with crampons, however once you start the hike, see the beauty of the glaciers and the clear flowing water you’ll be glad you did it. There were many wonderful highlights we enjoyed and I could write an essay about each. The only thing we wish we would have done was spend more time at Thingvellir National Park, we could have been here all day walking appreciating its beauty. Our last day in Iceland ended at the Sky Lagoon…the view from that cliff is spectacular especially if you get lucky on a clear day as we did. It was the perfect ending of our time in Iceland.

Emanuela definitely got it right when it came to accommodations with The Black Pearl Apartments and Hotel Husafell as our favorites, if you wish to splurge on accommodations, which is something we wanted. Hotel Husafell provides you with breathtaking views of mountains and a vibe that is relaxing and grounding with exceptional service. The Black Pearl Apartments are in the heart of Reykjavik, spacious, clean, modern apartment with excellent service.
Although we never met Emanuela, she took the time to communicate with us in Iceland and it felt like we were traveling with a friend who wanted us to feel at home and enjoy our time. Thank you Emanuela for creating a memorable experience that my family and I will remember for years to come.

This was only an hour shower but it was super informative and really interesting. They talk about the history of one of the major recent volcanic eruption‘s and then they actually do a demonstration on how the magma comes out of the earth and flows. Even my kids loved it

It was a great trip and everyone had a lot of fun but it definitely felt a teeny bit dangerous. One of our snowmobiles did fall over at some point when we hit a sharp slope and I did hurt my shoulder a little bit but everyone had a ton of fun. A few other people also fell over but nobody got hurt.

We loved our accommodations in small guest houses and she even booked us at a horse farm. She made many personal recommendations for restaurants that we loved. We enjoyed the tours that we pre-booked, the Lava Show in Vik was excellent, the Lava Tunnel tour was fun and educational, and the Ice Cave tour was challenging and exciting. We lucked out during our whale watching trip and we saw 3 whales coming to the surface, flipping their tails multiple times. We even saw a puffin skimming over the ocean while feeding.
Emanuela's knowledge and experience of Iceland was evident in the recommendations she gave us that highlighted the beauty of the country, the magnificent waterfalls and the volcanic lava flows. Unfortunately we caught Covid and two of the three of us had to stay an extra 3 days. Emanuela helped us extend our hotel stay and access medical care. Emanuela worked with us to plan a trip that was perfect for our needs, wants and time constraints. She was always responsive and regularly in touch before and during the trip. Logistically, the bookings she made for our trips all worked exactly as intended. We were particularly delighted with the company she chose for our two expeditions, the minibus and the guides were truly excellent.
In Reykjavik, Sky Lagoon was an absolute highlight and my favourite restaurant was Fiskfelagid although we sampled many and had lots of excellent food!

Emanuela planned an amazing trip for us. I traveled with 3 kids and their grandmother. Everything was perfect for our group. The February weather created a challenge as several of our booked tours were canceled or cut short due to storms. Our agent, Emanuela, was remarkable in rebooking tours, hotel rooms and reassuring us that she would take care of us!! We can't thank her enough for making our holiday a success! We visited the Katla Volcano, ice cave and and glacier; Víðgelmir Lava tube; Blue Lagoon water spa and enjoyed visiting the shops on Laugavegur in Reykjavik. We met so many nice people from Scotland, Ireland, England, Lithuania and even Brazil. To see Iceland in the winter was amazing!

Excellent itinerary for Iceland! Emanuela was excellent before and during our trip. All recommendations were spot-on and met all of our needs. Even when we had questions during our stay in Iceland, we were able to get quick responses back from our guide. We especially enjoyed the Glacier Lagoon boat trip, the volcano hike, and hunting for northern lights (which we saw twice!). I would absolutely recommend doing the self-driving tour of Iceland as I believe this is the most flexible way to see the country.

Every day was an adventure to new places and experiences with a bit of respite thrown in every couple of days to let us recharge. The hotels were excellent, and her restaurant recommendations were always great, from the best fish and chips in Iceland to fine cuisine next to the harbor in Reykavik (Kopar) and great restaurants in Stykkisholmar (Narfeyrarstofa), Akureyri (Strikid) and Lake Myvatn (Vogafjos Farm). Probably the high point of the trip was the super Jeep trip to Askja Crater across 100km of Icelandic lava desert with our own guide, who was both entertaining and extremely good in helping JoAnne to push her limits in hiking. The waterfalls all around Iceland were magnificent, particularly Dettifoss and Selfoss, and we very much enjoyed walking behind Seljalandfoss, although we regretted not wearing our waterproof gear. Emanuela was also available to assist us throughout the trip, even checking in to make sure that things were going well. In looking back, we realize that we were unable to see all the sights that Emanuela included but with luck we will get back to Iceland for the ones we didn’t see.

The best part of the trip was she or her team mate were available all the time to help us out while we were there. PCR Test direction was conveniently included a day before our departure to US. There are many memorable moments of this trip. Trekking to the volcano which is still spilling lava, strolling through Akureyri, visiting a small village, Borgarfjordur Eystri with a population of 100 providing an amazing opportunity to watch Puffins from very close quarters. I am yet to download 3200 pictures which I took. Thanks to KimKim and Emanuela. We had such wonderful time in Iceland!! Icing on the cake was visiting Blue Lagoon before our flight to US.

Among our top experiences were, strolling in Reykjavik, whale watching in Husavik, navigating the Glacier Lagoon in a Zodiac, ice cave hike, snowmobile excursion, hiking an active volcano, the many scenic and waterfalls views and relaxing on our last night before heading home at a geothermal lagoon. as it tends to happen in many trips, there were some unscripted events but we still made the best of it and enjoyed it to the fullest. Word to the wise- come prepared for Iceland's unexpected weather as we experienced snowstorms, heat, cold snaps, heavy rain and just plain gorgeous sunny days. It is another thing when you can have a specialist help carefully curate an experience. First, I'd like to mention that the magical experience of my trip was only emphasized by the incredible knowledge and hospitality of the agent who helped me - Emanuela Grieco.

As master of her product, she skillfully curated a self-driving tour which allowed me the gleefully roam the Western and Southern regions of Iceland in the winter time, while still feeling like I was taken care of. To be in communication with a professional throughout my travel, helped ease any sort of travel anxiety that may have come up, allowing me to fully focus on the magic that solo travel in Iceland can bring. It was truest sense of hospitality one could experience from a travel agent, similar to that of experiencing a Michelin 3 star restaurant or 5 - star hotel accommodation.

From the initial conversation of attempting to book this experience, I was tended to in regards to what I was looking. I gave a budget and picked out a few things I wanted to experience. I knew that I wanted to go to drive myself to explore the island, experience Blue Lagoon, Snorkel, tour an ice cave, snowmobile on a glacier and see the northern lights.

I let her know what I had booked personally - a plane ticket, a 4WD car rental and my first night stay. She was able to intelligently fill in the rest. Honestly, I only booked those things first before I even considered using KimKim and to be frank, I probably didn't even need to do that!

It was quite the itinerary that I had intended to experience and Emanuela thoughtfully crafted a driving tour which allowed me to systematically experience all of these activities while making positive progress of exploration along the way. Simple, effective accommodations were booked along the way essentially allowing me the mission of getting from point A to point B while experiencing the freedom of the self drive tour that I had envisioned.

Her route took me from landing in Keflavik, directly to the Blue Lagoon. Stayed my first night in Reykjavik (booked by me) and followed a walking tour of the city that was provided by her. The next day I started my drive towards West Iceland and the Saga town. I was trepidatious at first, driving into the unknown, but as soon as I caught my first glimpse of the magic of Iceland (everywhere), I knew that I just had to trust the plan that was set before me.

From the Snæfellsnes Peninsula to Thingvellir National Park, to the majestic waterfalls of the south to the magical beaches of the South, sprinkled in with snorkeling and some off road super jeep adventures and some super thoughtful accommodations I was truly ensconced by the natural wonders of the country. I was able to see the Northern Lights dance on my final night to boot!

As a person who is relatively frugal about travel and all of the details that come with it, I took the opportunity to fully dive in and let a professional create an experience for me. I regret absolutely nothing and can only encourage other to trust and let the professional do what they do. It was worth every penny.
