Las Torres Trail

The aim of the day is to finish the most famous trekking trail in Torres del Paine National Park. You'll trek from the campsite towards Las Torres before scaling up to Ascencio Valley on the Tower's eastern face.

Beautiful natural scenery lines this route towards the valley. The biggest test comes from the steep slope in front, a monstruous of boulders that will lead you to the famous & iconic view of the towers — three imposing granite monoliths, the remains of a great cirque sheared away by the brute force of glacial ice.

After a tough climb, the towers eventually come into range, with the glacial lake visible below. This is a great place to have lunch. Backtracking along the same trail through Ascencio Valley and returning to EcoCamp, you'll arrive for a well-deserved dinner.

Start: EcoCamp Patagonia
Finish: EcoCamp Patagonia
Walking time: 9 hrs
Distance: 14 miles (22 km)
Max. Altitude: 914m – 3,000ft

Day 6: Eastern Lakes to Torres del Paine

Lakes, Torres del Paine

Today will consist of a less demanding trail, to counter the tiring efforts of the day before. After breakfast, you'll take a leisurely car journey toward Laguna Azul, passing Cañadón Macho, home to many wild guanacos and ñandúes, en route.

At Laguna Azul, you'll hike to the lookout point where an incredible view of both the lagoon and granite towers awaits.

After lunch, you will drive to the northern shore of Sarmiento Lake. This is where the Fauna Trail starts. As you hike northbound, you will spot an impressive range of Patagonian fauna on the vast plains, including guanacos, ostrich-like ñandús and possibly puma prints!

You'll pass the charming Goic lagoon and after approximately 5 km. of easy paced walking, the Laguna Amarga ranger station will emerge. Here you'll be picked up and driven back to Ecocamp to celebrate over your farewell dinner.

Start: EcoCamp Patagonia
