Samer Hajric
I am originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Sarajevo continues to be my home to this day. I'm a certified mountain guide by the Mountaineering Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina and UIAA standards (Official International Mountaineering and Climbing Federation, partner of the International Olympic Committee), and have a degree in Sociology. I've been guiding Green Visions mountain trips for 24 years now. When not leading trips, I am involved in the development of new outdoor adventure itineraries.
Exodus Travels is one of the biggest companies in the UK offering different outdoor and cultural itineraries worldwide. Since Green Visions is Exodus local partner for Bosnia and Herzegovina, we run five different programs for Exodus Travels. I am through the season mostly involved in leading their Hiking in Bosnia & Snowshoeing in Bosnia programs. As recognition for my "hard" work, I was honored to be elected as the best Exodus Leader for 2013 in a competition of more than 800 Exodus worldwide leaders.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I climb the mountains for more than two decades now and through all these years had a chance to hike pretty much all around the world.
However, a special place in my life has the mountains of the Dinaric Alps which I would love to share with the rest of the world. This mountain chain stretches through the Balkan peninsula, from Slovenia to Macedonia. The central part of these mountains is located in Bosnia and Herzegovina, my home.
I specialized in hiking & trekking during summer in this beautiful "playground", but winter activities such as snowshoeing are also something I run very often in the winter season."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Totally accidentally.
I joined a group of (at that time) a very young group of enthusiastic people who established a company called Green Visions. The idea was to share Bosnian nature with people around the world. By that time the company grew into a respectful tour operator, who cooperated with some of the biggest names in the tourism industry.
I'm very pleased I was a part of this amazingly joyful and enthusiastic team from the beginning and for all these years."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"In 2006 I spent two months in Japan, which offered completely different cultural experience from any other, even until today. Having a chance to Tour through Central and Southern Japan, was definitely an unforgettable experience, visiting some of the most interesting destinations in that part of the country.

Samer waited for me on arrival and drove me to the very nice city hotel.
I enjoyed my city walk and then it was off the mountains.
The trail were a chalange but doable. Tons of wild life , pleasant conversation and peace. The 2nd half of the trip was a different guide. The snake charmer who showed me snakes. The stay was in nice locations, the food everywhere was amazing.

The only thing we didn't like about our trip was that it was over.
Stunnigly beautiful mountains and villages, fresh water, cozy cabins and delicious food.
Our guide Samer was not only a true professional but also a wonderful person we really enjoyed spending time with. Highly recommended and we look forward to coming back.
Hello Doron,
Thank you very much for great words.
I truly enjoyed the tour we did, from many different reasons, my first hiking tour of the season, weather and most of all the company.
Have a great time in Mostar and hope our paths will cross again.
All the best.
