My trip was back in August and I’m sorry that this review has taken so long to write, but the fact that I am writing it now is a testament to how truly wonderful Sarah is and how much gratitude I feel towards her for designing an amazing itinerary and also giving us a ton of support throughout the whole trip.

First, since this was post pandemic last august, airlines were just a complete disaster and unfortunately our situation was no different. We had delays AND cancelled flights in both directions which of course messes with your itinerary. While no one likes to be in that situation, having Sarah as our contact made everything run so much more smoothly and made me feel so much better. Every time something did not go according to plan I would shoot her a text and miraculously everything would get resolved. She immediately adjusted our itinerary to make sure we didn’t miss the things that were important to us. Because she had paid such close attention to what I told her I wanted, I didn’t even have to ask her! She just understood. I had another incident where I hurt my back and had to cancel one of the tours we had booked at the last minute and Sarah immediately found me an alternative that would suit us better at no extra charge. She really goes above and beyond and solves problems instantly!

Now the trip itself was just magic. I wish I could go back. I’ve never seen water so blue, and the people were lovely, and the history is rich and the food is just spectacular!! I was pretty ignorant about Croatian food and wine but that was a real shame because every dinner was fantastic and I really fell in love with the white wine. This was my ideal vacation because Croatia truly allows you to have any kind of trip you desire. There are beaches, boats, natural parks with gorgeous hiking and views, cities, cool architecture, history, wine country, Michelin star restaurants and the list just goes on.

This beautiful country should absolutely be on your bucket list and I think I will be back many times. Sarah is the perfect person to guide you through it. She knows every region and every activity and she’s incredibly competent, responsive and just an overall people person! Thank you so much for your support Sarah!

Sarah helped navigate our girlfriends trip through Croatia-starting in Split, stopping in Hvar and ending in Dubrovnik. She lined up transportation from airports, hotels and excursions. We took three boat excursions and despite the weather, enjoyed them all. Our skippers (Tony, Ante and Ivo) were all very capable and interesting. We felt safe and secure and found their advice very good on what and how to enjoy our time on the water and port. As the weather was sub-optimal the day we travelled with Ivo, the life stories he shared from time in the service, to search and rescue and olive farming made up for it. His lunch recommendation on Lupod was also the best meal of the trip at Obala! We enjoyed a seaside table, truly inches off the rocks with fresh delightful fare!

We enjoyed our time hiking around the beautiful waterfalls in Plitvice and Krka. All of our transfers were efficient, safe and comfortable and the recommended hotels were quite good. Our favorite was the harbor view suite in the Palace Elizabeth Hotel. We truly enjoyed our time in Hvar including the trek to the Spanish Fortress Overlooking the City and Sea.

Our tour guides in Trogir, Split and Dubrovnik were all very knowledgeable and passionate - and the time with Mislav wine tasting was enjoyable and relaxing in Korcula - a very enjoyable and laid back island with good food. The walled cities of Trogir, Korcula and Dubrovnik were our favorites - each with a different scale and vibe but common in the quaintness of their back alleys and cobblestone streets. The wall walk in Dubrovnik was worthwhile, providing great views of the city and sea.

All and all, a truly exceptional vacation and one of the top 5 in our travels to over 60 countries! We highly recommend Croatia and KimKim!

We were immediately matched with Sarah who is based locally in Zagreb and she organized a terrific highlight tour of Split and Dubrovnik as well as the islands of Korcula and Mljet. Her recommendations for accommodations, dining and activities were spot on and her knowledge, patience, communication and professionalism were superb. She was incredibly responsive before (even with the significant time change) and during our trip … answering questions and addressing concerns big and small. If you are hesitant to use an app for travel planning …. don’t be. The KimKim format for pairing travelers with local expert agents is fantastic!

We were supposed to go to Montenegro but the boarders were backed up so Baldo created an alternate plan for us in Bosnia. We agreed to pivot and it turned out to be one of our most treasured days. Trust the drivers/guides. They will give you an incredible experience no matter what! We loved Split, Hvar and Mostrar the most. Dubrovnik is very crowded, it’s nice to visit the old town for a day but there are so many other places with less crowds and more to do. I cannot be more grateful I came across KimKim and Sarah. I wish she planned outside of Croatia!!!

This is a modern hotel. It’s very clean and has great views. That said, if you have a great view it means you face a busy(noisy) street. The air was cooler in the hallways than in our room which wasn’t great because we were there in mid august. The consierge is very helpful with reservations and taxis. The breakfast buffet is large. Overall it was nice to have two separate sleeping areas in one room (picture adjoining rooms minus a door.) I just didn’t like the noise or the lack of cool air and it wasn’t very close to old town, maybe 20 minute walk.

Green & Blue Caves of Vis Island

The blue cave was closed so Yoshko suggested the green cave. It was an hour wait to take the tour boat in, he offered for us to swim in. We were THE ONLY ONES in there! It was a really cool experience, but i would never pay/wait to see it. It is a tourist trap so beware. If you take a boat, it’s about 5 minutes in the cave. There are so many other beautiful places to see on Vis. Yoshko took us to many places were there were only 4 or so other people and to a wonderful restaurant belonging to 2 fishermen. It was an incredible day and he was a fantastic guide!

One evening in Dubrovnik, we traveled outside the city to a family farm and enjoyed an intimate meal prepared with food they grew onsite. There were so many highlights on this trip and this was arguably the best!

Zagreb Private Guided Walking Tour

Our guide was a lifelong resident of Zagreb with a true love of his city and the rich history! He asked us questions to gauge our interests and was considerate of the heat - positioning us in the shade to share info, acknowledged where we were walking etc. He provided food recommendations that were well received. Tanya picked us up at Dubrovnik and showed us her beautiful hometown, Cavtat, and took us to the local farm where they cooked an amazing Peka for us and explained the history of their family farm and the local food they prepare.

Baldo, who spent a whole day with us, drove us to Ston Bay, came on the boat with us for an Oyster tasting experience with Mario, and accompanied us to our wine tastings, finally taking us to our next location, Korchula, and sadly having to say goodbye to him!

Korchula is for sure a hidden gem, a beautiful town! Worth visiting, and Sarah booked us the hotel with the best views of the old town.

We took a ferry to Hvar (one of the most famous islands!), the captain and crew of the ferry were the nicest! Hvar is also a really beautiful and vivid town, with a lot of nightlife. The eye-opening activity on Hvar was our biking tour. Grgo made us fall in love with Hvar! He showed us his hometown and small villages like Jelsa, all biking! We also saw the most beautiful beaches on the island, I believe, and even met his friends! Grgo took us to his winery where we had another amazing wine tasting!

It has been amazing to be with local people who are so passionate and proud of their culture and traditions!

Green & Blue Caves of Vis Island

The day trip was outstanding. The boat captain came to our airbnb apartment and picked us up. He had an excellent knowledge of the area. We discussed his plan and had an outstanding day. He provided a cooler with ice and drinks and we brought snacks. We couldn't visit the blue cave due to the 3+ hour wait to get in so instead he added extra swimming stops to the most gorgeous locations. He took us to a restaurant on a secluded island and it was the best steak I've ever had. Our teen girls loved the entire day!

SO MUCH FUN! Well worth it! Our guide was so funny and patient. We flipped the boat twice but he ensured we were okay and the rest of the group picked up our sunscreen and water bottles :) We had a blast and I'd do it again. The rapids are just strong enough to make it fun and the scenery is gorgeous. Our teens loved it!

our guide was an energetic outdoorsman with boundless energy and terrific knowledge of the area and its history, plants, herbs, ..we met a woman who gave us information of the use of these herbs and plants in making of essential oils and natural remedies. The peka lunch was a real treat too.

Our driver Ivo was particularly interesting, incredibly educated and experienced and well traveled. He dropped us at the park, where we enjoyed a walk through the waterfalls and great views. He picked us up promptly and took us to a fabulous restaurant for lunch.

Our driver Mario was very professional and charming, giving lots of interesting comments during our drive . The winery was a real treat, where we tasted several varietals, olive oil and cheese. The owner had lots of valuable experience and knowledge, We brought some wine and olive oil back with us from there.

We are still day dreaming of the streets of old town Split and Dubrovnik. The walks to and from the hotels through the old cities transport you back in time. We highly recommend Split and Dubrovnik if you’re looking for a more busy city vibe, and Korcula Island if you’re looking for something more laid back. We fell in love with Croatia and are already wanting to go back. read more

The wine tasting was a fun experience, though low key and quite rustic compared to other areas. Visiting Ston and eating lunch at Konoba Bakus was the highlight. Nothing like fresh mussels and oysters right from the doorstep!

It's a long drive from Split but totally worth it! The waterfalls are incredible to see in person and there is plenty of walking/hiking for nature lovers. We were lucky that there weren't too many people that day so we didn't feel crowded at all.

Thank you to Stepan and Ivanka for hosting us on this adventure. The waters were choppy so we couldn't jump in all the swim spots, but of course safety wins :) We had a great time touring Vis island and seeing the incredible blue caves. Thank you for having drinks for us to stay refreshed!

We did a walking food tour in Split, visited Krka National Park plus lunch (our driver was great as well as the lunch), day long boat ride from Hvar to Vis Island and Pakleni with another fabulous lunch, a biking and vineyard tour on Korcula Island, had awesome lunch at a farm outside of Cavtat (cute little seaside village and then on to Dubrovnik, Old Town was very cool and the restaurants food and service was over the moon. Then things turned crazy when my wife tested positive for Covid for the return to the USA. Sarah was so helpful in rearranging our schedule and making sure we were good and taken care of. That really means a lot when your in County you're not familiar with. Sarah, you are an angel!

We had the most amazing 10 day trip starting in Dubrovnik, Croatia and ending in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Sarah was our travel specialist who organized and individualized our trip to make it memorable with a great combination of scheduled activities and free time. Sarah chose the most amazing boutique hotels in Dubrovnik, Split, Zadar and Ljubljana in the historic old towns of each city with their own unique charms. You could not pick a better location or more welcoming hotel staff, as each made us feel very welcome and special. We had great tour guides at our destinations, and we especially want to mention Ina. She gave us a very good insight into Croatian life as well as very insightful tour of Split and Trogir. Our personal drivers were very attentive and knowledgeable especially Mario, with vast knowledge and he always exceeded our expectations with his attention to detail. We were very happy to have him two of our days. On our way from Split to Zadar, Sarah organized an authentic Croatian meal at Restoran Vicko, the most amazing family owned farm-to-table restaurant. It is a hidden gem worth the drive. Krka National Park and Plitvice Lakes are definite must sees, the beauty and tranquility of the parks were breathtaking. The Esplanade Hotel in Zagreb was beautiful and did not disappoint. Sarah had nice bottle of wine and chocolates waiting in the room for us, a beautiful touch. On to Slovenia to visit the beautiful Lake Bled, the unbelievable Postojna Caves and interesting Prejama Castle. The weather was perfect in April, we arrived before the summer crowds. We really enjoyed all the places we visited, they were all beautiful with their individual charms. Thank you Sarah for your attention to detail. We will always have our memories of our amazing trip and look forward to returning to explore Croatia and Slovenia more.

Krka was an amazing park of numerous trails and waterfalls. The beautiful blue and turquoise waters were breathtaking. Pictures could not do it justice, you need the sounds and smells of nature to comp;ete the beauty.

Restoran Vicko was an amazing farm to table family restaurant with the most amazing food. The portions were very hearty. This is a hidden gem, where the locals drive an hour on special occasions to eat here. We had a tour of the kitchen, which was very interesting. Highly recommend!
