Tricia Cantlon
There is so much beauty to discover on this beautiful floating rock we live on! I truly believe that travel, if done responsibly, teaches us meaningful life lessons about ourselves and the world around us that are incomparable to any other form of education.
I am originally from Detroit, MI but I moved to Norway seven years ago; I was instantly drawn to the country's vast and unique beauty. In Norway, and worldwide, I have spent the majority of my adult life traveling through different scopes: including eco-hotels, hostels, backpacking, camping, road trips, and more. I use these experiences to create tailor-made trips so you can revel in the magic of Norway firsthand.
What places and activities do you specialize in?
"I crave activities that allow us all to thrive off of natural beauty and discover a deep connection with local culture! I specialize in fjord tours, arctic adventures, mountainous escapes, and coastal exploration on land and in sea throughout all of Norway. Sustainability, collective wellness and community inspire my activities to get acquainted with local cuisine, history and landscape. I can help you navigate a trip to explore beautiful Norwegian nature, quaint small towns, or urban areas including Oslo, Stavanger, Bergen and Tromsø."
How did you get involved in travel?
"Exploration was a deep desire of mine since I was young. I did the stereotypical 20-something backpacking trek through Europe, and quickly discovered that my connection to travel meant so much more when I could stay in one place, get to know people, and give back to the communities I visit. I slowed down my travels and started volunteering my way around the world - I worked in private homes and public organizations for varied causes like plastic cleanup, yoga teaching, sustainable farming, and animal rescue. From these ventures, I discovered how truly electric, enlightening, and earnest travel can be. This led me to develop meaningful travel knowledge to help create valuable memories for others."
Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.
"It's hard to choose just one! Every trip I've taken has been unique and beautiful in its own way. One of the most amazing experiences I had was visiting a permaculture farm and eco hotel in the middle of a Costa Rican jungle. It was a muddy two hour jungle walk just to get into the property; I saw snakes, poisonous frogs, butterflies as big as my hand, and fierce howling monkeys before I even got to the hotel. The trees were the brightest green and the water was the most electric blue. During my stay on the farm, I volunteered with locals and international travelers to utilize renewable resources, make meals from the farm we worked on, generate the land, and produce as little waste as possible with a humble lifestyle. Staying in the jungle was a slightly risky, tremendously beautiful and overall unforgettable experience."

Our trip to Norway was spectacular. Tricia and the KimKim team were great from start to finish, especially during the time we were actually in country. They kept us apprised of trains not running and all the quirkiness that happens in Norway during Easter Week! Our time in the Lyngen Alps specifically at Lyngen North (in our glass igloo) was a highlight along with our Dog sledding experience at Riverland Husky and seeing the northern lights while there. The entire country is beautiful and the people too. We will be back!
I'm SO grateful you had a spectacular trip and got to experience the best of winter here - even the northern lights! :)
Thanks for everything, Kim! Come back to us in Norway soon!

Our Norway trip was great. KimKim helped us customize the trip and it provided everything we wanted, some city experiences and many outdoors hiking and kayaking. Our agent, Tricia, was patient and knowledgeable in helping us plan our trip. We had a guide for a few hikes and they were prompt and helpful. The accommodations were wonderful. Highly recommend.
Thanks so much Anne! It was a joy to help you and Lori on your trip. I'm very grateful you put your trust in Kimkim and Ethical Travel Portal :)

Waterfall Itinerary in Norway

|
May 24 - Jun 5, 2023
Our trip was specifically geared toward our desire to see as many of the major waterfalls in Norway. Tricia put together the customized itinerary along with three tours - a hiking trip to The Valley of the Waterfalls, a kayaking / hiking trip in Øvre Årdal, and a kayaking trip to the Seven Sisters in Geiranger. The custom itinerary hit all of the major waterfalls in western Norway and the tours were wonderful. We unfortunately had some issues with the rental car but Tricia and the team at Ethical Travel have been supportive in trying to resolve them as much as possible.
Thanks for putting me in charge of this very unique trip, Yuzo! Chasing waterfalls is the best hobby I can think of :)
I think you were the first traveler ever to speak to every single on-call specialist on my team during the car dilemma! I am so glad that the issue is concluded now - better late than never.
Otherwise I am so happy you enjoyed your road trip and got to experience the beautiful abundance of fresh water all around the country.
Thanks for everything and may your waterfall chasing continue to be successful!
