Veronika Turskytė

Hey,

I fell in love with traveling totally unintentionally. But once you sit in that plane and fasten your seatbelt, there is no way back. I have visited most of European countries by the age of 24. Spent most of my time in the Nordics. Something about this rough and unpredictable weather makes you appreciate every moment of good and get creative with a bad. If I can I always choose to drive around the places, since you can see so much more while driving and discover some hidden gems. And from my point of view, trips should be way more about experiencing the culture, than just taking that one great picture, but of course ideal if you could do both!

What places and activities do you specialize in?

"I love hiking and exploring my surroundings. From nature to cities, from rivers to lakes and seas. I like to experience as much as possible when I travel, hence my list of to-do's usually is quite long!"

How did you get involved in travel?

"Back in 2018 had a fantastic friend who suggested going to Thailand. Ever since I can't stop traveling, I always have at least one planned trip. "

Please share a unique travel experience you will never forget.

"The Faroe Islands were one of my favorite trips. the views you get after doing some hikes are breathtaking. It's so wild and beautiful! Some old little villages have locals baking waffles and serving them with a hot cup of tea or coffee. What could be better after a challenging hike?"

Discover Stora Sjöfallet National Park in Swedish Lapland in the summer
Best Time of Year to Visit Sweden

Summertime brings more daylight hours for strolling Sweden's bustling capital or hiking its northern trails. Cozy up inside during the long, chilly winters or embrace the snow by mushing through on dog sleds or ice fishing in Lapland. The fewer daylight hours in the fall and winter are best for viewing the greenish solar dance of the aurora borealis and blooming cherry blossoms signal the arrival of spring when the crowds are fewer, airfare and hotels are more affordable, and the temperature is comfortable for exploring.

How Many Days to Spend in Sweden

Sweden is divided into three large regions: Norrland in the north, Svealand in the center, and Gotaland in the south. You can cover one of the three regions in five days, but taking 10 days or more to cover two regions at an unrushed pace is ideal. And in two weeks, you can see what these three regions have to offer on a grand tour of the Nordic country.
