Introducing Bolivia

Bolivia is home to some of the most diverse ecosystems in the world that are just being discovered by modern science, and its culture is just as vibrant as its jungles and plains.

When is the best time to visit?
The best time to visit Bolivia is during their winter months (June - August), when you may experience colder weather in the higher elevations and deserts, but the clearer skies will be less likely to interrupt your travel plans.

Where to go in Bolivia?
Home to the largest percentage of indigenous people in South America, Bolivia is known for its constant parades and celebrations. Check out the ancient ruins of Pumapunku, the world’s largest salt flat at Salar de Uyuni, and the verdant La Paz valleys.

How many days do I need?
Many travelers might feel like one week in Bolivia is too little, but it has been done. Two weeks and up is a normal amount of time to spend in this incredible country.

From the Amazon jungle to soaring Andean peaks, Bolivia spans a vast range of elevation and a variety of microclimates and landscapes. Generally speaking, altitude and topography determine variations in local climates, but nationwide a clear-cut distinction between the "winter" dry season and "summer" wet season makes any decision on when to visit fairly simple. Winter brings sapphire skies and cooler temperatures, while in summer, wildflowers bloom, yet fog, clouds, and flooding are common.
