When is the best time to visit?
The hands down best time of the year to visit Indonesia is between May and September, when the days are dry and sunny. That being said, it stays warm and comfortable during the wet season as well, when you should expect intense downpours that last a few hours but clear up pretty quickly.
Where to go in Indonesia?
As tempting as it is to spend the entire trip relaxing in Bali, there’s so much more to Indonesia than beaches and spa treatments. Visit active and dormant volcanoes, such as Mt. Bromo in the Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park, or paddle through the Komodo National Park, home of the world famous Komodo Dragons. You will inevitably travel in and out of Indonesia via Jakarta, and other cultural destinations to explore include Yogyakarta, Tana Toraja, and the Baliem Valley.
How many days do I need?
Indonesia is best experienced at a slower pace. Let yourself enjoy the beaches and other natural scenery, and maybe even visit a spa or two. Try to reserve at least a week to really savor this country.
Spend eight days in two of Bali's most popular spots with this itinerary. You'll start off in Seminyak, visiting surfing beaches and watching the sun set. Then head to Ubud to take in the temples and wildlife and learn to cook in the Balinese style before you depart.
Tied the knot and want a customized trip to celebrate your love? Try honeymooning in Bali. This tour combines culture, relaxation, beautiful landscapes, snorkeling, and a touch of adventure: the perfect combination for an unforgettable honeymoon.
Discover the best of Balinese nature, culture, and beaches on this 10-day adventure. For the first half of the trip, base yourself in Ubud, going on excursions to hike around rice terraces, cycle through villages, and visit the region's famous temples. Then you'll continue on the journey with a sunrise trek to the top of Mount Batur and a detour to Tanah Lot, a Balinese sea temple. Spend the last part of the trip in the resort town of Seminyak, the perfect jumping-off point for a boat cruise and snorkeling trip around Nusa Lembongan.
This two-week itinerary will take you from East Java to Bali with stops at sites both famous and less-frequented. Tour multiple Javanese temples, including Borobodur and Prambanan; trek up to the tops of Bromo, Kawah Ijen, and Batur volcanoes; and stroll through terraced rice fields and coffee plantations as you explore these two lush islands.
Hike, swim, cycle, and snorkel around two of Indonesia's islands, Bali and Nusa Penida, on this active 10-day itinerary! You'll start on Bali with walks through rice paddies and temples, a bicycle tour, hikes into a volcanic caldera, a sunrise trek to a mountaintop, and a thrilling whitewater rafting trip down the Telaga Waja River. Then catch a boat out to Nusa Penida for three days of snorkeling and relaxing on the beach.
To get the most out of Indonesia's vast cultural and natural treasures, you'll need at least 10 days. This is enough time to see different archipelagos or experience the...

With only six days to spend in Indonesia, you can still cover a number of islands or provinces, like on this classic route from East Java to Bali to Komodo Island. Or, rise early and cover Java's highlights, including iconic Mount Bromo and Borobudur temple. Seeking adventures in nature? See orangutans in the Sumatran jungles or kayak Komodo National Park and spot the famed dragon. Lastly, meet the ethnic groups of South Sulawesi and venture to lesser-touristed sites in Tana Toraja.
With 12 days in Indonesia, you can see many major sites and cover multiple islands, but it's best to decide which of Indonesia's diverse landscapes you prefer. Focus on nature by bird-watching in West Papua or visiting the orangutans in Borneo; beach hop around the Gili Islands, go on a multi-day trek through the jungle toward Wamena or spend more time in the local villages learning about Indigenous tribes, like the Dani Tribe of Papua New Guinea or the people of Sumba.
With 11 days in Indonesia, you can spend your time between the temples, quaint villages, and beaches of Java and Bali on a classic itinerary or take a deep dive into the local way of life on a culture-focused trip, complete with a full-day shadowing a rural Balinese family. If you prefer a more relaxed pace with plenty of time at the beach, stick to a Bali and Gili Islands-focused trip. And if volcanoes and temples pique your interest, an 11-day itinerary with stays in Yogyakarta, Mount Bromo, and Mount Ijen will do just the trick.

Java - 10 day trip
Feb 10 - Feb 20, 2023
We did a 10 day Java trip and it was amazing. Marc organized our drivers and hotels and activities and we loved all of it! Our drivers, Purwol and Sholi were excellent and very safe. We were well looked after and the hotels we stayed at were lovely. We climbed Mt. Ijen, Mt. Bromo and visited numerous temples. We went bike riding, experienced waterfalls and had a really fun time. Marc was excellent at helping plan and we can't say enough about how helpful he was on our trip with getting... read more

Marc was great to work with in our trip planning. He was open to providing more options for tours or lodging if anything was not a best fit. Additionally he answered lots of questions we had about itineraries, cultural norms, and made sure we knew who would be meeting at each trip stage and provided contact information for all drivers, and hotels, etc. I would highly recommend his services to others as his Bali knowledge was extremely helpful.

A Honeymoon Miracle Trip
Jul 22 - Aug 12, 2022
We have only amazing things to say about our experience with Alisha and the trip she planned for us. We first started planning our honeymoon by ourselves and quickly got overwhelmed by planning a 3 week trip to the south or southeast pacific having no experience in the region. We reached out to KimKim and Alisha had an incredible 3 week itinerary across Java, Bali, and the Komodo Islands to us in a week or less. She was super responsive to our requests for changes or alternatives and came up... read more
